A calm, supportive guide to feeling prepared and present

Our attention to Detail & dedication to our couples is part of how we create memorable images & experiences.

That’s why we created the Ultimate Month-Before Wedding Checklist for you!

The Ultimate Month-Before Wedding Checklist

A CALM, SUPPORTIVE GUIDE TO FEELING PREPARED & PRESENT

This final month is not about doing more :) That’s why you hired an awesome vendor team! It’s about bringing things together with intention, clarity, and care.

This checklist is here to gently guide you through the last stretch so nothing important is missed and nothing feels overwhelming. Take it at your own pace. Use what supports you (forget what doesn’t!)

Reminder from me: you are not meant to navigate this alone. If questions come up, if something feels unclear, or if you simply want reassurance, I am always happy to hop on a quick call or connect further to support you. That’s part of this experience and part of my role. You’re doing great :)

30 Days Before the Wedding

Create One Master Vendor List! Create a single document with the following for every vendor:

☐ Vendor name
☐ Role
☐ Website
☐ Primary email
☐ Instagram handle

Include planner or coordinator, venue, photographer, florist, hair and makeup, catering, DJ or band, rentals, stationery, officiant, transportation, content creator, and any additional support vendors.

☐ Share this list with your planner and photographer!

Photo-specific note:
This list allows your photography team to coordinate behind the scenes with your planner and vendors so the day flows smoothly and naturally. You can begin filling out the vendor form now. It does not need to be complete.

Finalize Guest Logistics

☐ Confirm final guest count
☐ Share final headcount with venue and caterer
☐ Finalize seating chart
☐ Prepare place cards or escort cards
☐ Confirm and communicate dietary restrictions

Photo-specific note:
Clear guest logistics help us anticipate movement, transitions, and timing throughout the day without interruption.

3–4 Weeks Before

Start Your Wedding Details Box
Choose one box or tote and place all physical wedding details inside as they arrive.

☐ Invitations and envelopes
☐ Save the dates
☐ Programs, menus, signage
☐ Ribbon or styling elements
☐ Vow books
☐ Cards to each other
☐ Family heirlooms
☐ Jewelry
☐ Shoes

☐ Bring this box with you on the wedding day

Photo-specific note:
Having all details in one place allows them to be photographed thoughtfully without pulling you away from getting ready.

Confirm Vendors and Timeline

☐ Finalize wedding day timeline
☐ Confirm vendor arrival times
☐ Send timeline to all vendors
☐ Confirm music selections and do-not-play list
☐ Review ceremony details with ofthe ficiant

Once confirmed, avoid unnecessary changes. Trust your team.

Photo-specific note:
Your photography timeline will be finalized together during your planning call. Keeping changes minimal afterward protects calm, light, and breathing room.

NOTES ON YOUR WEDDING PLANNER SITUATION:

If you have a full-service wedding planner, they will likely keep you on track with the timeline, vendor communication, payments, and logistics.

However, if you’ve hired a month-of or day-of planner, it is critical to stay on top of these things rather than leaving them until the last minute. The goal is FUN, relaxing, easy, and grounded, right!?

  • Marriage License: Secure the marriage license and ensure all legal requirements are met :)

  • Ceremony Details: Finalize vows, readings, and music selections

  • Prepare for Final Payments & Tips: Prepare cash tips and final checks for vendors in labeled envelopes unless you are on auto-pay. Most invoices will be due a week before the wedding day.

  • Break in Shoes: Wear your wedding shoes around the house!

  • Prepare Emergency Kit (or, have a friend do this for you!): Assemble a kit (safety pins, tide pen, painkillers, etc.).

  • Focus only on yourself! Your health, relationship, and self-care, always :)

2–3 Weeks Before

Communicate With Wedding Party and Family (If Applicable)
Send a clear message outlining expectations:

☐ Getting-ready time and location
☐ Hair and makeup start times
☐ What to bring on the wedding day
☐ Family photo expectations
☐ Designated point person for questions

Photo-specific note:
Clear communication ensures photography runs smoothly, especially during getting ready and family portraits.

2 Weeks Before

Delegate as Much as Possible

☐ Assign someone to pack décor and details
☐ Assign someone to manage family questions
☐ Assign someone to hold personal items
☐ Assign someone to distribute tips or envelopes
☐ Assign a point person for minor issues

Delegation is not losing control. It is creating space.

Photo-specific note:
Delegation allows photography to focus on documenting moments instead of managing logistics.

1–2 Weeks Before

Simplify, Do Not Add

☐ Release unnecessary tasks or DIYs
☐ Stop adding new projects
☐ Focus only on what truly matters

Calm is created through subtraction, not perfection.

Photo-specific note:
A simplified schedule creates space for genuine, unposed moments to unfold naturally.

1 Week Before

Care for Yourself
Focus on consistency, not extremes.

☐ Hydrate regularly
☐ Prioritize sleep
☐ Gentle movement
☐ Time offline
☐ Nourishing meals
☐ Avoid new skincare, supplements, or routines
☐ Schedule grounding activities you already love

Photo-specific note:
Rested, grounded couples photograph beautifully. How you feel directly shapes how the day is experienced and remembered.

48 Hours Before the Wedding

Final Personal Prep

☐ Spray tan completed 48 hours before the wedding
☐ Nails, waxing, and grooming completed
☐ Wedding-day outfit laid out
☐ Getting-ready clothing chosen

From here on out, shift from preparation to presence.

Photo-specific note:
Completing personal prep early allows the wedding morning to feel calm, unhurried, and spacious.

Wedding Day Reminders

Have All Details in One Place

☐ Wedding dress on a wooden hanger (or anything you have purchased!)
☐ Shoes
☐ Jewelry
☐ Flowers
☐ Invitations
☐ Vows
☐ Cards to each other
☐ Family heirlooms

For partners wearing suits:

☐ Jacket
☐ Shoes
☐ Socks
☐ Tie or bow tie
☐ Cuff links
☐ Accessories

Photo-specific note:
Having everything gathered ensures details are photographed efficiently without pulling you out of the moment.

Share Vendor Instagram List

☐ Send Instagram handles for all vendors (including yourselves)

Photo-specific note:
This supports preparation, collaboration, and accurate storytelling after the wedding.

Final Reminder From Me!

You are not behind.
You are prepared.
You are allowed to rest.

When communication is clear, tasks are delegated, and details are gathered, you create space to be present. That presence is what makes your wedding day meaningful.
