My photojournalistic style is influenced by emotion and natural moments. Connecting with people and communities motivates my work. Capturing the lives of the people I meet and the places I travel inspires me.

1. Why I love photography - Being a photographer allows me to tell stories, create connections and tell your unique story.

2. I have two kids, and they are my life.

3. As a former doula, I am passionate about all things family and children. I'm the youngest of 4 girls, my dad always wanted a boy but he got all girls instead, and I was the first one to give him a grandson :)

4. I'm an open book, I love helping others and talking about life experiences. We all have so much more in common than we realize.

5. I was born and raised in Brazil, moved to California when I was 17, and didn't know a word of English.

I'm Sarah: Bay Area based photographer! I'm a natural born optimist and I literally smile behind the camera! I believe in finding joy in the everyday, that real emotions are better than perfectly posed, and that less is more. I freak out (in a good way!) over white walls, whimsical details, and pops of color. I overuse exclamation points (sorry not sorry), have a strange obsession with farm animals (how are llamas so weirdly cute?), and could eat brunch every day of the week!

I've also been a critical care nurse for 12 years, and I love how I get to combine both my creative and analytical brains with my work! Plus you'd be surprised how much nursing and photography have in common (ask me about it sometime)!
 
You can bet that I'll do my best to get to know the real you and that I won't be afraid to make a fool of myself trying to get you to laugh! That split second when you forget that you're being photographed and just react is the moment where the magic happens.

Aaah, you're getting married! congratulations! i love to document moments as they're happening and i would be honored to document your wedding story. why are you getting married in the first place? more than likely, it's because you're head over heels, and crazy in love with each other, right? And if you've got love on your wedding day, that is really all you need for your day to be magical. I most love documenting the happy tears, the raw, the sweet simple, often overlooked moments.

I aim to make photographs that make you feel all the feels now and bring you right back to those moments later on when you look back at your images 5, 10, 15, and 20+ years from now. I will be with you through all the emotions of your celebration, I’ll be your friend, I’ll probably be tearing up behind the camera watching you two take the first step into a new chapter, and I’ll more than likely dance with you at your reception!

Why Weddings?

I’m a documenter of love and it doesn't matter if you're it's just you and your lover getting hitched or you're planning a 300+ wedding, I truly enjoy these celebrations! I’ve had many side hustles along the way and all of them have had ties to weddings. I have worked at a bridal salon helping brides pick out their dream dresses. I worked at a tuxedo rental agency where I fitted people for tuxes. I’ve made cakes for weddings, and I have been a wedding coordinator, invitation maker, makeup artist, and even a bartender for weddings! all of this experience helps me assist in timeline planning as well! there was a time when I said I would never photograph weddings because I was so afraid of the pressure, but I have come to find that I'm in love with witnessing the love and raw moments on these big days!

I'm a lover of love, fun, and nostalgia. I’m a 30-something human, wife, mama, and lifestyle photographer living in the east bay area, ca. I’m married to my best friend, Paul. we have a spirited seven-year-old named Penny and a wild five-year-old named Ollie. I enjoy long quiet walks up and down target aisles. I like to die (seriously, I’m always like, “I can make that!”).

Hi, I’m Holly, a Sonoma County professional photographer and I’d love to tell your story. Similar to you, my story has been a journey including a life purge that saw my husband and me dramatically pare our belongings in order to live in 147 square foot Airstream. And while this lifestyle isn’t for everyone, for us, it has provided an opportunity to explore true happiness with just the things we truly love surrounding us. A few of those things are photos because along the way, I depended on my beloved camera to document our progress.

As a professional photographer, my camera lens gives me focus – not just with images but on life as well. So when people came to visit, I invited them into the frames. Siblings, parents, old friends and new, babies and pets and grandparents all found themselves in the camera’s eye. I created an ever-changing gallery of images, something I hadn’t known as a child. I was delighted and loved every minute of it. The best part? That very personal experience served to enhance my professional capabilities in ways I never could have imagined.
