Paige + Ben // Intimate Late Summer Wedding At St Jean // Sonoma Wedding Photography

Paige and Ben met in San Francisco in 2011 when they joined the same dodgeball Paige asked him out a few months later and knew almost immediately that he was the one. In the past 6+ years, they have moved to New York and back to California again and traveled the world. I flew to New York last fall to do their engagement session and capture that chapter of their lives. The wedding itself, was on September 16, 2017, at Chateau St. Jean in Kenwood, CA, but feels like being in Southern France.

Ben proposed when they were traveling in Iceland. They were exploring some of the natural sites, and while Paige was standing on top of a crevice in the earth where the Northern and European tectonic plates meet, Ben got down on one knee. They immediately found a gas station to buy a bottle of champagne to begin celebrating. That night, they stayed in the middle of nowhere and watched the Northern Lights dance and move across the sky. The rest of the trip was spent exploring while brainstorming their dream wedding.

Their vision for the wedding was a theme of “natural elegance with an urban edge.” They wanted it to feel modern yet timeless at the same time, and it turned out absolutely incredible!  The final palette combined blues and greens in the form of silver/olive/sage, with blush, crème and a touch of marsala. Charlotte and Daughters (florist) put together gorgeous, eclectic florals and installations using garden roses, dahlias, ranunculus, astrantia, jasmine vines, olive greens, and seeded eucalyptus.

The lounge seating, blankets, welcome sign, flower petal cones for tossing post-ceremony, cigar bar, coffee favors, floral arch/structure for ceremony, lanterns, escort card display, lawn games and welcome kits for guests were only a few of the unique and thoughtful details that made Paige and Bens wedding so memorable. Bellarosa String Quartet serenaded the guests as the Tomales Bay Oyster girls shucked oysters amongst the crowd during cocktail hour, followed by a formal 3-course dinner by Park Avenue Catering (a wine country favorite).

As the sun began to creep towards the ridge, we went out to the vineyards for golden hour. These two are so in love and capturing their relationship was so special. The entire day was filled with laughter and happy tears. The thoughtful details were woven into every piece of the wedding, which made it feel intimate and personal. My favorite part of the evening was when Paige entered the dance floor with glowing light up Nike’s to spice things up!

Brandi + Andrew // Gorgeous Wente Vineyards Wedding // Fine Art Wedding Photographer

Brandi and Andrew’s wine country wedding kicked off my wedding season this Spring. From day one, Brandi was such a fun and creative client. She had a vision – and executed it beautifully. Not only were all of the details unique, bohemian and fun…these two were a dream to work with. Their love for each other was so authentic and beautiful to witness. They were so tuned in to each other throughout the day. I could feel it, and was able to capture it effortlessly because they were so at ease in each others arms.

They wanted to create a bohemian, organic vibe while incorporating cool, edgy elements with geometric glass terrariums and copper mugs at every place setting. In a vineyard setting, it was important to include warm, romantic accents like candles, rustic wooden lanterns, and wine barrels. The bohemian vibes were incorporated in the organic floral designs, rustic signage, wreath cake topper, and gold twig handles of the cake-cutting utensils.

From morning until night, the overall energy and ambiance was timeless and elegant. An acoustic guitarist sang the bride and groom’s first dance, and this special moment was given to them as a gift from the groom’s oldest brother and his wife. The artist, Mondo, sang Vance Joy’s Fire and the Flood. From the moment Brandi and Andrew heard this song -  they new it was their song. It speaks to their deep connection regardless of distance, and captures their love for truly great music. Also, the groom’s uncle and aunt lent their vintage Mercedes Benz to be used as the newly wed’s get-away car, which made for a great photo opportunity :) Enjoy the gallery for some wedding inspo and smiles :)

Katie + Billy | Elegant Olympia's Valley Estate Wedding | Sonoma County Wine Country Wedding Photographer

I remember jamming out in my car en route to west Sonoma County for Katie and Billy's farmstead wedding at Olympia's Valley Estate. I was so excited from all of the images I had seen and even more excited for a new venue. Katie's vision came alive beautifully, with the help of her coordinator, florist, catering team and venue staff (credits below). From start to finish I was filled with inspiration. From the rolling hills and Protea filled floral arrangements, the gorgeously decorated barn... to the pond surrounded by weeping willows, I was in my happy place.

As the sun crept down towards the ridge, I found myself surrounded with ponies and farm animals as the warm light illuminated the two newlyweds. We had the best golden hour session EVER. Laughter and light were the driving forces behind such authentic images. I love feeling this kind of inspiration and love witnessing my clients so blissed out and in love. Fingers crossed we get to go back for maternity photos! xo, Katie
