CHILDREN'S AIDE TANZANIA

Much is heard about the development of the African continent, however realities seldom match these encouraging speeches. Top-down solutions rarely reach those needing more due to lack of information, and an extreme scarcity of opportunities. NGERIV's spirit is fully engaged in a bottom-down approach where solutions are thought through and implemented by the beneficiaries themselves with the common good, as the main goal. The first portion of this project began at Eco-Camp, where we lived off of the land with no electricity, running water or technology. However, it was comfortable and sustainable and acts as a model for the surrounding villages as inspiration to improve their quality of living, with what they have.

In the entire subvillage of Lukwabe, with a total of population of 300 people, only three students were attending Secondary School which is 30 Km away, and the primary school is 17 Km away. Most of the primary schools have no teaching aids, no housing for teachers, no furniture,  and not enough properly qualified teachers. In April of 2015, the Happy Bricks Foundation (based in the UK) build the Happy Bricks School, which is now providing educational tools, environmental awareness and child care to the families living in the bush. Below you will find the school gallery, garden projects, water filtration system and the beautiful children benefitting from the establishment, followed by a documentary of what rural village life looks like. These children are now in school 5 days a week, learning and expanding their minds beyond their basic survival skills.
