Ashley + Chad // Chic Soda Rock Winery Wedding - Healdsburg Wedding Photographer

Ashley and Chad got married in one of my favorite months in wine country: September. From our first session at Sutro Baths, I knew this wedding was going to be a good one! Ashley is in the event industry and her attention to detail was incredible. From the morning at Chix Villa through the entire wedding…the vibe was high and their love was palpable.

Having been friends since they were teens, you could sense that their relationship was rooted in friendship which translated effortlessly in the images. Enjoy this gorgeous wedding! xx, Katie

Importance of Brand Identity + Staying True to Your Vision // San Francisco Photographer

Owning a business requires many stages of trial and error. Over the past decade, I have learned more than words can do justice. The past several years have been a time of transition, growth and excitement for Kreate Photography. As I have expanded, it became clear that I could no longer “do it all” and had to begin evaluating what I could take off my plate. When I re-branded last year, my goal was to elevate the company’s brand identity through a clean, minimalist and organic elements. I wanted the re-brand to flow with my photography style. I did not want it to be overly feminine or masculine, and as an artist, was committed to making sure the overall vibe left a lasting impression.

My previous logo and “brand” was a simple Etsy font and my photoshop creations. There was not much to it, other than my photographs. I was lacking in that area for a long time. When I decided to completely re-brand the business, I knew it was going to be a journey!

I hired Jacqui Hendricks to do the re-brand and she was an absolute joy to work with. The first phase of the process was taking the time to build a mood board, learn more about what I was attracted to and let it evolve from there. Below you can see my initial mood board in the beginning of the process.

Over time, my designer began to better understand what I was looking for. She added her creative input, and I remained honest with myself about what I wanted - I had to remind myself not to settle unless it all resonated with me. The elements evolved into an incredible finished product and an entirely new + innovative brand identity for my business (official brand guide can be found at the bottom of this post!).

The reason I am sharing more about this process is because it has completely transformed my business, brand and online presence. I cannot stress how important this is and wish I had done it sooner! Feel free to reach out with any questions about the process.

Brandi + Andrew // Gorgeous Wente Vineyards Wedding // Fine Art Wedding Photographer

Brandi and Andrew’s wine country wedding kicked off my wedding season this Spring. From day one, Brandi was such a fun and creative client. She had a vision – and executed it beautifully. Not only were all of the details unique, bohemian and fun…these two were a dream to work with. Their love for each other was so authentic and beautiful to witness. They were so tuned in to each other throughout the day. I could feel it, and was able to capture it effortlessly because they were so at ease in each others arms.

They wanted to create a bohemian, organic vibe while incorporating cool, edgy elements with geometric glass terrariums and copper mugs at every place setting. In a vineyard setting, it was important to include warm, romantic accents like candles, rustic wooden lanterns, and wine barrels. The bohemian vibes were incorporated in the organic floral designs, rustic signage, wreath cake topper, and gold twig handles of the cake-cutting utensils.

From morning until night, the overall energy and ambiance was timeless and elegant. An acoustic guitarist sang the bride and groom’s first dance, and this special moment was given to them as a gift from the groom’s oldest brother and his wife. The artist, Mondo, sang Vance Joy’s Fire and the Flood. From the moment Brandi and Andrew heard this song -  they new it was their song. It speaks to their deep connection regardless of distance, and captures their love for truly great music. Also, the groom’s uncle and aunt lent their vintage Mercedes Benz to be used as the newly wed’s get-away car, which made for a great photo opportunity :) Enjoy the gallery for some wedding inspo and smiles :)
